A friend of mine told me a story about when he was young.

When he was younger he grew up with a wonderful Shep which loved dearly . Sadly the dog got older and oneday when he was eighteen passed away. He really missed that dog , but he swore to me he could still feel the dogs presence sometimes.

Anyway, he had just got his licence and was driving inthe country one night, it was pouring and raining really hard and visiblilty was limited. Suddenly in his headlights he thought he saw a Shep in the middle of the road . He swerved and the car came to a stop safely, I might add.

Curious because the dog had looked familiar he got out and searched but could not find any trace of a dog. However when he was out searching he noticed just up the road was the rain had washed away part of a bridge and if he had driven any further , his car would have gone right into the swollen stream and he possibly would have drowned.

Shaken he saw the image of the dog he had seen on the road flash before his eyes..It was his old friend...

Now weather I believe this story or not ..I would like to think it was true so many animals have done wonderful things for their human companions that makes this story sound more feasible.....

I wonder if any of the readers out there have any unusual stories about animals and the ghostly things they do ..tell us

When I'd first gotten my new house, I had no 'creepy' vibes from it; in fact, I don't reeealy even believe in ghosts.

I keep the bedroom window nailed open a bit to let the cats come and go as they please, and, just after I had my boxes unpacked...

I was lying in bed, almost asleep, when I heard, just on the other side of the wall in the living room, a creek, creek, creek noise, just as though somebody was very slooowly walking from the front door towards the kitchen entrance, through the hallway, towards the bedroom. At the time, I had my little dog and two of my three cats with me in bed, and RoadKill, my little 'hit by a car fixer upper kitty' was missing from the group. I kept a steakknife on my night stand, and was grabbing that with white knuckles.

Just as the sound of the steps came to just outside my bedroom door, Roadkill jumped through the window on the other side of my bedroom. I never did figure out what the creeky steps came from, but all of my cats were staring at my doorway with me. About twenty minutes of sitting up at attention, I finally got the balls to get up and confront the possible intruder-nobody was there.

I now, kind of, believe in ghosts. I'm fairly certain my cats do as well...

The one thing I find great is the wonderful human imagination ...As a writer and a poet I love to hear stories about things out of the ordinary and that was great story ...many times things happen in the home that boarder on the unusual ...
