My guinea pig's name is Pretzel. I got him in August last year from someone who didn't want or care for him. He was outside the whole summer as far as I know, and the owners didn't really bother with him because they said he bit. They probably barely payed attention to him. My mom said they didn't give to poor thing food or water, either. When he got to my apartment, he was SO AFRAID! After a week or two, he got used to humans being with him. I found that out when his cage was being cleaned. When it was done, I had to pick him up to get him. He was outside on the porch. He let me pick him up and didn't bite at all!
So then I went on-line and looked at some guinea pig care. I just recently printed some stuff out for my mom to read so she would let me get the stuff he needed. He is getting a new cage soon. The one he came in is way too small. My mom and I might build it tomorrow or the day after that.
Now about ME.
I am a 13-year-old who lives in PA. I get good grades. I've been one the high honor roll once. I only had 1 chance so far to get on it, because this is my first year of being in a school that has an honor roll. I was in Elementary last year. I'm in 7th grade. I'll probably be on the high honor roll again.
I have 20 or something hermit crabs. I really know a lot about them. I even created a site about them at http://www.geocities.com/landhermitcrab2006 . I've owned them for 4 years, but just got the correct information about them in June of 2005.
Other pets I have are a parakeet, 5 fish, and a hamster. They are all happy. I've had the parakeet since I was in kindergarten, the fish since last year, and the hamster since maybe last May or something. The hamster is actually my brother's, though. He got to be his class president, and he got the class a class pet.

Hi landhermie  nice to see you here.
Pretzel is lucky to have you for his owner, especially after his first owners didnt care for him much. and it sounds like you have your hands full with all your other pets.
Does your Parakeet talk ?
im hoping to get an african Grey Parrot soon, and i hope he will talk, but if he doesnt then i wont hold it against him and will do my very best to care for him.
all pets need is our understanding, attention and care and they will treat us the same, so Pretzel may not bite again.
its good that you are doing well at school.

Hi Landhermie again welcome to our site ......we would love to see some photos of your animals ...we have alot on site and we love all sorts of things ...I too have to set up new playpens for my piggies as I have just mooved house and hopefully soon we will get new cages and playpens...we also have fish ....We used have some Hermit crabs but sadly we lost them from old age ....I have lots of articles on Piggy care in Cavy Forum please feel free to check it out and ask questions or comment if you have any helpful hints on any of your animals ...
