Guinea Pig Rescue Reply with quote
Hi there! I'm new! My name's Gemma and I help run a Guinea Pig rescue!

Our web site is www.guineasgalore.org if you want to take a look!

I have always loved Guinea Pigs, as well as all other animals! Guinea Pigs have a very special place in my heart, and I just love to help them, stand up for them and speak for them.

I have 8 Guinea Pigs of myown, as well as some rescues who desperately need new homes! Amongst my own guinea pigs I have Dylan, a rescue from the RSPCA, Peach, a satin piggy, Rain a lilac piggy, Hermione a merino piggy, Harpig an Alpaca piggy, Dougal a coronet piggy, Pumpkin another satin piggy and Toby another rescue piggy.

I have my own site as well as the rescue site if you want to take a look:

http://uk.geocities.com/curiousorange17//gemsguineapigpages.html

I always encourage people to rescue guinea pigs but rescue guinea pigs are the best! They're so cute and they've had a bad start in life and they deserve the best!

I'm also doing a rodentology course with the CCT ( Cambridge Cavy Trust) is any one else?

Feel free to talk to me about Guinea Pigs any time!

Love Gem.xXx Cool

Hi there Gem and a warm welcome to CavySanctuary ...although we have made this a place for all animals you might be able to tell I am a little bit bias by the name ....I come from Australia and we have 21 little GP's every single one well loved ...(See our family thread). It is wonderful to meet a person who is so activly involved with rescue it is so sad that some of our little friends are not wanted or neglected....I do hope you find some great homes for your friends (maybe someone here) What country do ou come from? We would love to hear if you have any stories about your piggies and you can also post pictures as well as any other info you might have . Also check out the arcade section and if yah have any prefrences , please let me know...We need more members too so if yah can please tell all yah friends....

Hi Gem ..glad yah Like Steve ..Did you see his seven year old daughter is now starting up her own show with guess what wild animals as well..21 Piggies is quite a handful but everyone is individually loved and has their own unique character ..we even have some very healthy six year olds(going on seven) they aught ta be each day they get ..Celery, Carrots, apples, Bok Choi, Oranges, Pears and bananas..as well as Piggy Mix .....My fav Nature Person is the Bush Tucker Man ..Hes a Major General in the army who goes Bush with the indigenous tribes and documents and films Bush Tucker and animal behaviour all over Australia in the outback..He has a wonderful Life Here is a URL that gives you a bit of Background on him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Hiddins ...You'll find I'm a real nature freak ..I love all animals from Spiders to Tigers and all in between ..I firmly believe every animal on this earth has a place and a reason for being here...That is one of the inspirations for CavySanctuary and I am hoping it will really take off cause we are getting some people on the site who really share the same concerns for the Welfare and welbeing of all animals..so keep speading the word...

Hi Jan! They got closed down and fined but I don't know about any thing else. I shall investigate and get back to you! I thought it was funny when I talked about this before and people thought that I was suggesting 2nd and 3rd generation Chinese people were eating pets! I thought I'm not suggesting it, it happened! But I know I shouldn't generalise and most Chinese places are ok, but I still won't go to them. Yoiu just don't know what's in the stuff!

and did you say it happened in kent ? im in kent and may know the place.
yes ive noticed some people tend not believe a story like this, why i dont know, may be they just dont want to, because its so horrible.

yes wise move not to eat chinese again, i wouldnt want that risk either.

It was quite a while back now, like a good 5 - 6 years ago. It's just put me off since! It happened in the medway towns, I think it was Chatham or Rochester. Don't know if you know them? I'm in Maidstone, where abouts are you?

Yeah it's true. I'll try to find out the name of the restaurant. Everyone round here remembers it well. A lot of pet cats were going missing at the time, and the freezers also contained alsations. Disgusting and awful!

I didn't realise you were in Kent too, my friend goes to uni in Canterbury, it seems a nice area! Maidstone and Medway are a bit of a dump. Oh well!

i quite like Maidstone, theres a good shopping centre there if i can remember right ?

it must have been really horrible for people to hear their pet had ended up there.

A new one just opened. It's ok I guess. Some parts of it are ok, but others are a dump. Just like any where I guess. Smile
