Sara and I treat our pet like a human, I've always ensure pets are happy life
We would love to have more cats, but this house isn't big enough, maybe we'll get a 5 bedroom house soon _________________ www.starsofwisdom.com

We are thinking of moving house to get better facilities for our piggies ..Also a friend of mine wants us to take up tropical fish breeding...We used to have 16 tanks when we were in Sydney and we had all sorts of fish ans succesfully bred them ...We are thinking of getting a breeding pair of Discus ..In Aus they sell for about 50 or 60A$ for juveniles....We would probably breed swordtails as well ...My friend owns a wholesale business and has offered to help set us up for professional breeding...Oh well maybe soon... _________________ Antipodi

my hubby said we should breed persian cats, i dont think he realizes the work involved. i said no to that idea.
they sell for £100 to around £450 each depending on the quality.
i would be more concerned that the kittens sold will be cared for properly all their life. some people tend to not realize they need combing regulary and the cat gets all knotty and unloved.
some buy them to breed and keep them in tiny cages.
and then theres the worry of them falling into bad hands like animal experimentation. _________________ js

Barker update..
so he has a primary brain tumor. advised not to op on it.
his been on 2 pred (steroids) every other day.
he started fitting badly.
now he has 2 preds every day.
he started tremors/shakes.(vet said he was heading for massive fit)
started phenabarbitone 4 a day (240mg) anti epileptic drug
he couldnt even stand up. i think the tabs were too strong.he panted 24/7
we took it upon ourselves and reduced, then stopped the phenabarbitone. after 3 days.
i prefer him to have quality life for the short time he has left and for 4 days now he has slept normally, got up by himself and even goes out in the garden on his own unaided. oh and his so far had no fits or shakes _________________ js

yes yet another good night.
i think he didnt need to go on those Phenobarbitone.
i tell ya wat happened, he started fitting, our hospital vet said raise the pred to 2 a day. fits stopped about 4 days later, but then he started shakes/tremors, we spoke to neurosugeon at the hos, he said phenobarbitone, i think he thought he was still fitting but they were some sort of tremor. its all done over the phone cos they are so far away.
this is expert advice, but we do have to be on the ball, cos its done by phone.
i dont trust any local vet through bad experiences.
so between the hos and us looking on the internet for info, it seems now to be working.
there is a possility that the pheno was too strong, i think as he couldnt even stand, in fact we thought we would have to put him to sleep, but the hos vet said he was on the right dose. we are lucky that we saw the problem with those pheno and stopped them. also the pheno can cause a rare liver prob that causes death, but can be stopped if taken of them early enough, who knows this could have been happening. _________________ js

Every animal like humans are individuals with indiviudual allergies and other unique nbeeds and sometimes in medicine we tend to generalise (what works for one should work for another) ..I too think this is a big mistake ...doctors and vets should get to know indivually their patients ..not read indormation directly from a textbook cause from experience we all know this can lead to disaster....You know your dog better than a vet who only sees him for an hour at a time ..and a good vet should try and combine your knowledge with his knowledge of medicine ...sadly I suspect they dont always...Great to hear Barker is doing well ..hang in there Barker ...(Raises glass) _________________ Antipodi

Precisely, in fact any long hair cat or dog needs more care to keep their coats healthy. They must be combed every regularly.
Now about horses, people don't realise just how demanding and costly it is to care for them, and it's not cheap. I had a friend who knew a friend that owns a beautiful horse, she is well cared for, has a very large beautiful grass and tree lands (property) and loves to go for walks along the beach trails. That's the biggest expense of owning a horse, they need massive amount of room to roam, they need a large horse shed that is weather proof, they need constant grooming, health care and of course decent food and tender loving care. _________________ www.starsofwisdom.com

hi Greg yes i would love to have a shetland pony.
but they do take a lot of care , at the moment is not a good idea, i dont have enough time and what with my phobia preventing me from being out side.
i also imagine the vet bills and food are expensive. _________________ js
