Choking hazards and Petition Reply with quote
yesterday my dog died choking on a half a frankfurter and tiny tablet.

today i find this on the net.

http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/4835.html

they are calling for a warning label to be put on the wrapper.

many children die from choking. parents need to be aware of the dangers of hot dogs.

please sign it

thankyou

thanks Anti.

yesterday our best vet (the only one we have been able to trust so far) phoned us to offer his condolences. we told him what happened and his never come across a dog choking or human on a frankfurter.
i asked him to pass this info on, he said he will email all his collegues.i asked the question could the med have done something to his throat, he said its possible that the med made him unable to swallow normally, thus adding to the problem.

this is another important message we need to get out

HOTDOGS CAN CHOKE !

Absolutely .....so I will put this in the Animal Central section for all to read...

The more I think of ot is should be a warning for any animal that this method is used for ..some may even try this with cats and other meat eating domestics.....

thinking about these chews, they are dogs food, they should carry a warning, or even be banned.
Jana's dog died. Sad

I might do some research and do a Message alert on the Dogs section on the chews ..cause thats Dog specific. and many owners would not be aware ...funnily enough I had not been aware there had been deaths..so many others would be in the same boat and they heavily promote rawhide chews in Australia..even on TV....

we used to buy them , and our dog had so much trouble with them, they do not dissolve and split in to 2 parts. he always coughed and bought them back up .
a young pup or older dog may not beable to cope with it and die.
i expect there are many more deaths due to choking than is made aware of.
